Summer Family Days out

We’ve packed for all eventualities.’ A phrase that says all anyone would ever need to know about the British attitude to summer. Come summer whether we’re experiencing blistering temperatures or sudden downpours we’re ready for anything! And in that spirit, here are some brilliant ideas for days out with the whole family this summer, whatever the weather may throw at us. Just remember to pack the wellies as well as the sun screen!

Family Days Out…

Do your little ones think of themselves as something of a warrior? Defend the castle, rescue the princess and have time for a picnic lunch at one of these magical (and historical) castles.

Get out and explore the great outdoors. A woodland walk is the perfect way to inspire a love of nature, let little  imaginations thrive and most importantly – tire them out! Here are some great activities you can include on your walk from tree rubbings to scavenger hunts.

Make the most of the long, warm evenings. The Luna Cinema will be showing new releases and old favourites at iconic venues across the country. Introduce the kids to 80’s classic The Goonies at Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Gardens. We can’t wait for Harry Potter at the suitably atmospheric Warwick Castle.

…And In

While we all love family days out, sometimes there’s nothing better than a cosy day at home. Get creative and build your own board games, cook up a storm in the kitchen or set up camp in the garden (or front room weather dependent!).

At the end of a busy day of play, it is tiring juggling a career as a knight, squirrel and wizard all at once you know, treat them to Bill’s. Our fab Children’s Menu has something to please even the fussiest of eaters and our delicious new Summer Menu means the grown-ups will be happy too!
