Hearty helpings, well presented. A Saturday institution for which folk travel from well beyond Sussex.
Lovely town, Lewes: still rural, yet intriguingly bohemian. Bill's is classic Lewes: rustic yet quirky, it's a grocer with a café attached, which attracts an interesting crowd of foodies chuntering away at communal tables. Great breakfasts, but also good for salads, shepherd's pie and delicious salmon tartlet with goat's cheese, beetroot, spring onion and juicy tomato (£3.95). Hearty helpings, well presented. A Saturday institution for which folk travel from well beyond Sussex.
